WHAT IS IRLP |
IRLP is a way of linking amateur radio repeater systems together without the use of RF links. |
IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) custom software and hardware. |
Coupled with the power of the Internet |
IRLP can be uses to link repeater sites or simplex stations to the world in a simple cost effective way. |
IRLP operates a worldwide network of dedicated servers and nodes offering very stable worldwide voice communications. |
All this with unsurpassed uptimes and full dynamic range of telephone quality audio. |
IRLP by design is a radio to radio system, not to be confused with Echolink witch is a keyboard to keyboard & radio to radio system. |
IRLP and Echolink are not compatible, and are not designed to be cross linked. |
A good example of an IRLP linked repeater system is the WALA network. |
MCARG is a WALA Affiliated Repeater System. |
